This is probably the last torch shot. I'll have to go out this
weekend to get some more pictures to share here.

Torch Song
For two days, this weekend, PEI became Fire Island as it welcomed the
Olympic Torch...wait.
I waited outside my apartment for about an hour trying to get my
camera setup just right. It was getting chilly and the crowd was thin
at best. My enthusiasm was already low when the Coca-Cola truck went
by and then the RBC Float. But then group of people dressed in white
jump suits turned the corner and slowly walked up to province house.
It took everyone a few moments to realize it was the torch and then
everyone started to crowd around it as the torch bearers posed for
pictures. Then they continued down great george street to a crappy
party. All the signs pointed to it being a very underwhelming
event, and for the most part it was, but the torch itself and the
enthusiasm of the people who carried it really made the whole thing a
really cool experience.

Enlightened House
This scene was seen on the Cabot Trail. This was just about the only
sunshine we saw the whole weekend.

Where Is My Doubloon?
I don't know how many times I saud it during the Cabot Trail, but
there are a lot of scenes in Cape Breton that reminds me of The Goonies.

Miniture Tiny Hamlet
This one is from Cape Breton but I used a tilt shift tool i've been
dying to use for some time. This website is very easy to use and
gives your photos a pretty neat effect without the expensive equipment.
Update: I noticed that the effect isn't all that apparent on this tiny version. If you click on the photo you will be sent to my flickr account. Above the picture there is an "All Sizes" button. If you click on that the large size will show up. I think thats the best way to experience this photo in particular.

Close To The Coast
I was in Cape Breton last weekend and took about a million pictures.
Pretty much just trees and ocean. This one was on the Ingonish side
of the Cabot Trail.

There Was Snow Foilage
Apparently its easier to see the forest from the trees when there is
no foliage. This was taken during a recent trek I made through the
Cabot Trail. Zero moose and coyotes sighted. 4 coloured leaves spotted.

Dumbo's Motivation
I took this one several years ago. I have a bunch of new photos from
my recent trip to Cape Breton so stay tuned!

A Mundune Monday
These are the dunes at Greenwich in PEI. They were pretty
interesting but it was extremely cold so I did not spend very much
time there. BORING!

A Little Birdy
I went to the beach (for some reason) earlier this month and saw these
little birds (sand pipers I think) running through the surf. I spent
a good 20 minutes stalking one of these birds trying to get close
enough to get a good picture. I took about 100 pictures and walked
away feeling like I must have got at least one good picture. One of
the curses of digital media is that I ended up with about 40 'good'
shots that looked almost identical and I still have to work them down
to 2 or 3 that would be worth keeping. Woe is I.

Old Faithful
Foilage + church across the street. I have about a million pictures
of each of those but never before have I combined them into one
photo. Photoshop is a great thing.

This Little Baby Went Wewewewewewweewe All The Way Home
My Nephew, Declan, got to go home last night. He spent the last 109
days in various hospitals in the GTA. In that time he accrued 3
Ward's Cutest Premie titles and 2 Ward's Funniest Uncles titles.
Unfortunately, I wasn't around to help him win the third. His Mom and
Dad are very excited to have him home and very grateful for all the
support they have received (especially the support received n the form
of comical onsies!) I can't wait to get home for christmas so i can
hold him.

Halloweenish Hallway
For the first time in a while I did not participate in halloween
festivities. I am going out this week to scoop up all the discount
costumes so I am ready for next year. I just hope the John & Kate
story is still in the news next year. Oh lord...I just thew up in my
mouth after I typed. I really hope that won't happen.
